New Carpet at Columbia Public Library

New Carpet at the Columbia Public Library

With an average of 4,000 feet treading in and out of the Columbia Public Library daily, the carpet is wearing thin. Beginning the first of February, carpet-layers will begin tearing up the old carpet and installing new (in the same colors and patterns).

That means that books, DVDs and CDs will be shifted and moved. Please watch for signs informing you of the changes or ask staff for help. Since we have to move things around, we’re also making some modifications to the first floor. We’re adding a new seating area in the new books section, installing more self-service check-out stations and adding a new training space.

We anticipate finishing the project in April.
