Wireless Access Now Available in AshlandFebruary 2008
A patron uses free wireless Internet access at a table in the Columbia Public Library. Now all Daniel Boone Regional Libraries are equipped with wireless access for patrons. You can now bring your laptop computer (equipped with a wireless network card) and access the Internet for free in the Southern Boone County Public Library, in addition to the Callaway County Public Library in Fulton and the Columbia Public Library. Through the wireless network, you’ll have access to all the library’s online services like eBooks, eAudiobooks and reference databases to which the library subscribes. (The databases are available through the reference section of the library’s Web site.) The popularity of our wireless service has skyrocketed as more people have their own laptops. In addition, many people prefer to surf the net at the library because the library’s high-speed network is so fast. During the week of February 10-16, we recorded 800 logins through the wireless network at the Columbia Public Library. |
