Service Area
Three library districts make up the DBRL system. Established in 1959, the Daniel Boone Regional Library (DBRL) provides public library services to three library districts:
The Columbia Public Library is the largest facility and serves as the headquarters. Other libraries in the system include the Callaway County Public Library (CCPL) in Fulton and the Southern Boone County Public Library (SBC) in Ashland. The Outreach Department, housed in Columbia, provides bookmobile service to eight towns: Auxvasse, Columbia, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Holts Summit, Mokane, Sturgeon and Williamsburg. The smaller Youth Outreach Bookmobile serves the following Columbia locations: Bear Creek neighborhood, Blind Boone Community Activity Center, Columbia/Boone County Health Department, The Intersection and Lunch in the Park during the summer. Through reciprocal borrowing agreements with other library districts, anyone living outside this two-county area who either lives within or owns personal property in a library district is eligible for a DBRL library card. A card may be obtained at the circulation desk or through the mail from Outreach Services. Daniel Boone Regional Library continually strives to make materials and services accessible to the greatest number of people possible, in the service area. If you are unable to take advantage of what the library has to offer and require accommodations to do so, please contact Human Resources at (573) 443-3161, ext. 7016. |
