Exploring Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
Monday, February 24, 2014 › 7-8:15 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Friends Room

Helena loves Demetrius. Demetrius loves Hermia. Hermia loves Lysander. And Titania loves an ass. Over the course of one magical, moonlit night, Shakespeare's comic fantasy brings together star-crossed lovers, feuding fairies, magic, music, myth, and a band of bumbling workmen to lampoon our mortal obsession with “true love.” Milbre Burch, dramaturge for MU's February production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will explore the settings, the myths and the magic behind this "Valentimely" show. She will be joined by director Cheryl Black and members of the cast for a staged reading from the show and a Q&A. Find information about tickets and MU’s theater season at www.theatre.missouri.edu
