The first Hispanic judge on the U.S. Supreme Court, Sotomayor tells how she took inspiration from a feisty grandmother to survive a difficult childhood and went on to become a federal district judge before the age of forty.

This documentary is about acceptance, rejection and the science of social pain. "Reject" takes a science-based and solution-oriented look at the roots of bullying and violent behavior against the self or others. Today's viewing is a kick-off for a week of screenings and discussions sponsored by the Columbia Cares for Kids Committee and Boone County Community Services Department. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a reception and mayoral proclamation. The screening follows at 10 a.m. Director Ruth Thomas-Suh will be here in person to discuss the film.
