Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment
Columbia Public Library, Training Center

Every Saturday through January 30, trained staff from one of four local agencies will help you review health insurance plans, choose one that meets your needs and assist you with enrollment. Participating agencies are the Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging, Central Missouri Community Action, the Family Health Center and the Primaris Foundation. Walk-ins welcome.

Friends of the Columbia Public Library Lobby Book Sale

The Friends hold sales in the library lobby every Wednesday noon-3 p.m. and every Saturday 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. All proceeds support library services.

TRYPS Theater: Live at Eleven

At this workshop, children play games, sing, dance and act out books. Presented by TRYPS, Columbia's professional theater group for young audiences. Ages 3-8.

Tunes at Two

Local musicians provide a musical backdrop at the Columbia Public Library one Sunday of each month. This month we present folk musician Paul Fotsch.

Toddler Time
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room

Enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, flannelboards and big books. Parental participation is a must. Kids up to age 2 1/2 (30 mos.) walking confidently on their own.

Circuit Science
Columbia Public Library, Studio

Use Snap Circuits, a hands-on electronics learning kit, to discover the basics of electrical circuits. This session, we'll make a "flying saucer," construct an AM radio and more. Ages 8-12. Registration begins Tuesday, December 22.

Family Story Time

Come join us for stories, songs and activities. Ages 3-5.

Baby, Oh, Baby
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room

Join us for songs, rhymes, movements and activities for babies who are not walking confidently on their own yet. Parental participation is a must.

Drop-in Internet and Computer Assistance
Columbia Public Library, Training Center

During these unstructured sessions, use library computers to apply for a job, write a résumé, set up an email account, get help navigating the Internet, study for a test with "Learning Express Library" or sharpen your computer skills with our excellent self-guided tutorials. Choose from Keyboarding, Mouse Tutorial, Basic Skills, Computer Basics, Files and Folders, Exploring the Web, Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Presentations. For the tutorials, please bring headphones or purchase a set at the library.

Stretch Into Story Time
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room

Stand tall like a mountain. Explode like a volcano. Transform into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. At this session, kids and parents will learn creative ways to relax the body and focus the mind through yoga poses. We’ll begin stretching out and then move into specific poses as we act out a story. Wear comfortable clothing to allow for free movement. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Session 1: ages 3-5 with adult. Session 2: ages 6-8 with adult. Registration begins Tuesday, December 22.
