Every Saturday through January 30, trained staff from one of four local agencies will help you review health insurance plans, choose one that meets your needs and assist you with enrollment. Participating agencies are the Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging, Central Missouri Community Action, the Family Health Center and the Primaris Foundation. Walk-ins welcome.
The Friends hold sales in the library lobby every Wednesday noon-3 p.m. and every Saturday 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. All proceeds support library services.
Reading aloud to preschoolers improves their reading comprehension and vocabulary. Trained members of the Jumpstart Corps from the University of Missouri will read with small groups of children and parents in four 15-minute sessions, so you can drop by any time. Different books will be shared each session, and you may attend more than one if space allows. Ages 3-5 and parents.
Get ready for True/False Film Fest at the library with the help of 102.3BXR and KFRU. You'll get a step-by-step explanation of all things True/False, including a Q&A session with fest organizers and an exclusive sneak peek at a few films before the schedule is released. Find additional parking in the library's north lot.
Learn to prepare warm healthy snacks for wintry days and take home some toasty recipes. Presented by dietitian Kristin Eiffert and the Central Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Ages 3-9 with adult. Registration begins Tuesday, January 12.
