Did you just buy a new computer running Windows 8 or 10 and have no idea where to start? Come to our informal session to learn about the newest versions of the Windows operating system and get pointers. You may bring in your laptop or device, or we can demonstrate with the library's equipment.

Reading to Rover

Children will read for 15 minutes to one of Ann Gafke's Teacher's Pet Therapy Dogs while a handler oversees them. It's a fun way to improve children's literacy skills. All dogs are certified therapy dogs. Kindergarten age and older.

Personal Archiving

Do you have different photos on your computer, digital device and Facebook account? These days, we must actively manage our digital keepsakes to preserve them for the next generation. Join us for tips on managing and protecting your digital documents as well as scanning and preserving hard-copy items. We'll conclude the program with a demonstration of the library's digitization equipment. Attendees will qualify for further hands-on instruction in using the scanning and digitizing equipment in the Studio, the library's digital lab. Registration begins Monday, November 30.

Cathy Salter's "Notes from Boomerang Creek"

"Notes from Boomerang Creek," local author Cathy Salter’s recently published second book, is a collection of meditations on country walks, food shared with friends, travel, art, great books, and the art of writing. The essays have appeared over the past decade in the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Boone County Journal.
