One of the great singers of old-time cowboy songs visits the library this winter. Bob Bovee comes from a Nebraskan family who loved to sing and play old-time songs. Many of his western and railroad songs were learned from his grandmother. Bob plays banjo, autoharp, guitar and harmonica in addition to singing and yodeling. His playing style can drive a dance band, but he's also beloved for his dry and witty stage humor. Also a scholar, he has published articles and reviews for The Old-Time Herald and Inside Bluegrass and taught the history of country music at the University of Minnesota. Adults and teens.
