Early Childhood Social-Emotional Development

It is widely recognized that social-emotional development is one of the most important predictors of kindergarten readiness and success. This workshop will explain how social-emotional competence develops as well as what risk and protective factors affect a child's development. Participants will be introduced to the importance of screening children in order to recognize early signs of emotional or behavioral problems, and will leave with new tips and resources to enhance their work as early child care professionals. Dino O’Dell Concert
