Macaroni Soup Concert With Miss Carole and Clarence

This concert is a sing-along, dance-along, "do-along" event! Dubbed the "Pied Piper of children's music," Miss Carole Stephens is a nationally renowned music specialist. Her cross-curricular shows with accompanist Clarence Goodman encourage everyone from the youngest child to the oldest adult to join in the show with singing, dancing and rhythmic movement. Childcare groups only. Registration begins Tuesday, October 14.

Active Music: Brain Food, Body Fuel!
Columbia Public Library, Friends Room

Children learn by moving through their environment and music inspires them to move! Active participation in music promotes brain and body growth and provides opportunities for children of all abilities to work on social, emotional and physical skills. It also facilitates the acquisition of early literacy skills such as rhyme, pattern, sequence, vocabulary, crossing the midline, rhythm, tracking and more. Developmentally appropriate materials for preschool through kindergarten will be presented. Bring a water bottle and dress to move! Presenter: “Miss Carole” Stephens of MACARONI SOUP! Teaching With Missouri Building Block Award Books

Did you know that Missouri has a book award voted on by preschoolers? Learn about the Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award, and take home practical ideas for using math, science and music to share this year’s nominated titles with your children. Presented by children’s librarian Hilary Aid. (1.5 clock hours, DHSS-SCCR approved) Adults. Registration begins Tuesday, November 11.
