Differently Able: The Story of Janet Barnes
Columbia Public Library, Friends Room

Angela Barnes will share the incredible story of her mother, Janet Barnes, who was born a quadriplegic, yet lived a full and rewarding life. The book "90-pound Heavyweight: The Life and Triumph of Janet Barnes" is based on her diaries, letters, poetry and interviews as well as tributes and recollections from people who knew her well. One reviewer called it the "riveting story of a woman who never gave up and refused to be a victim." Copies will be available for purchase and signing. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Janet Barnes Legacy Foundation.
