Using the Library Catalog

Go to DBRL Catalog (catalog.dbrl.org)

Start Page

Click "My Account" link to log in.
  1. Use the Quick Search box to perform a basic search for items. You can search by general keyword, author, title, etc.
  2. The Advanced Search link allows takes you a page where you can perform more complex searches. For example, you could limit your search to the music CD collection. The advanced search mode also has a “browse” feature for looking through subject headings or authors in our collection.
  3. The My Account link takes you to a page where you can check due dates and renew materials (see more below).

Catalog: My Account

Once you have logged in, you can review what you have checked out and when it’s due, as well as what you have on hold and where you are in the holds queue. You can also renew your books or cancel a hold if you’d like.

Typical Catalog Record

Typical catalog record

For most of the items in our collection, you can view a cover picture, and many items have summaries, reviews, notes about the author or even excerpts (1). In addition to finding out where something is in the library and if it’s available (2), the item record also lets you click on a link to place the item on hold, see other things by the same author or to see other items on the same shelf in the library (3).

Tips

Kids' Library
Kids' Library
  1. If you use the "My Account Login" box from the catalog home page, you will remain logged in until the browser window is closed.
  2. You can sign up to receive overdue and hold notices via e-mail.
  3. If you discover that we don’t have a book you want, you can use the Request Material link at the top of each page catalog to ask us to look for your item through Interlibrary Loan or suggest we purchase the item.
  4. You can use the “Find It Fast” page to search topically by clicking on pictures. And, for our younger patrons, the “Kids’ Library” page searches just the children’s collection through topical pictures.
