Your New Catalog: Search, Save & Share

Searching for books just got faster, easier and more fun.

The library's new catalog has better searching and lots of new features to help you find what you need, discover new items, manage your personal library and share with others. View a slideshow tour of new features.

Registering is quick & easy.

To see your borrowing and take full advantage of the new catalog's features, you must go through a quick, one-time registration and choose your unique username.

  1. Log in. The first time you do so, type your library card number in the "Username or Barcode" box and your birth date (MMDDYYYY) for your PIN.
  2. Choose a username. You can use this to log in from now on. Since this is the name that will be visible to others, you should not use your library card number.
  3. Provide an e-mail address (optional). Enter an address if you want to receive library notices (e.g. hold and overdue notices) via e-mail.
  4. Read and accept the Terms of Use.
Notes
  • You may log in to your account with this username or your library card number.
  • Keep in mind that this username will be publicly displayed if you review materials or create lists to share.
  • After you're registered, you can change your username or e-mail anytime with the "Settings" link at the top of the page.

The Columbia Public Library needs more copies of Keys to the Kingdom 7: Lord Sunday because there are 21 holds on that book while there are no copies available and only one copy in the Public Library bookshelf.
So, WE NEED MORE COPIES OF KEYS TO THE KINGDOM #7 : LORD SUNDAY!

Thank you for the comments. That title is in "On-Order" status, which means it hasn't yet been added to the collection. On-Order materials don't show the actual numbers of copies that we will have once it becomes available. This particular book will have 5 copies available for check out.

I really like the social networking aspects of the new catalog, but the book descriptions are pretty meager. There used to be a tab with reviews from Publisher's Weekly, table of contents, etc. Are those gone?

We are working to add the reviews and summaries that were available in the old catalog back into the new one. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I liked the fact that my browser retained any author's name for me after a search in the old format unless I deleted it. The same was true for titles. I miss that feature as searching the entire list of authors trying to remember a name is quite tedious.

Sorry about that. Since the web address for the catalog is different from the old one, your browser's history for the form fields isn't available to show you previous searches. A cool feature of the new catalog, though, is that it will automatically make suggestions if you select an author or subject search.

There's a lot I like about it so far, but I'm finding it diffcult to pick out reading material with only the record information and only the briefest (if any) summary.

I don't care for this. I can't access my account to see if my stuff is in. thanks, Donna

Donna, sorry to hear that you are having trouble. You can access your account by clicking on the "Click here to access my account" link on the www.dbrl.org home page or you can click on the "My DBRL" menu item inside the catalog.

I do not like this new format. The old one was user friendly, where this on is just confusing. The old format, when you clicked on a book, one screen came up that advised where the book was located (library and location within the library), published date, etc. Another tab would provide a brief outline of story. This bried outline is now missing and you have to click on two separate section for the other information. There is more that I do not like about this new format. But just know that if there was a user friendly library in Columbia, I would be going there and no longer the DBRL.

the new catalogue is really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):);)

Love the new catalog. I'm one of those people who's constantly looking for new things to read, and trying to keep track of the books I have/want to read — this is going to help immensely (no more myriad paper lists floating around everywhere :) Thank you!

The new online catalogue looks great!!!!!

i am not very impressed with the new format. i was used to the other and so far not having much luck finding my way around on this one!

We're sorry to hear it's not suiting you so far. We'd be happy to help you in person if you'd like a little additional assistance.

This new catalog is fantastic!
