Library Kiosk/Shelving Aide

Employment Type: Part Time
Hours: Part-time (average of 12 hours per week)
Wednesday 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Friday 1-5 p.m.
Building: Columbia Public Library
Department: Circulation

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, the Aide performs routine repetitive clerical duties involving shelving, shifting and shelf-reading library materials, assisting with the holds process, providing excellent customer service by assisting patrons with food and beverage orders and handling cash and debit/credit transactions.

Education and Experience:

Completion of tenth grade or equivalent and must be 16 years of age and prefer some work experience. Kiosk workers will be required to have a food handlers card from the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health.  If the applicant does not already have one, he/she will be required to complete a one hour training course prior to working a regular shift.


There are no benefits with this position, but employees of DBRL can participate in the Employee Assistance Program.


$9.04 per hour
