Columbia, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, Shooting Star Trailhead
A Missouri State Parks naturalist will lead this two-mile hike and explain how rock is the foundation that affects plants and wildlife. Enjoy scenic views, descend through woodlands to Gans Creek and walk a quarter mile in the creek bed (water level permitting). Find fossils, skip rocks and use nets to catch aquatic animals. Optionally, you can crawl inside a small cave and take a look. Wear boots or shoes appropriate for hiking and bring drinking water. Canceled if raining.
Adults and ages 8 and older. Those 12 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration: Begins Friday, June 22.
