Center Aisle Cinema: "QUEST"

Wednesday, August 8 › 6:30 p.m.

Columbia Public Library, Friends Room

Director Jonathan Olshefski filmed this piece with vérité intimacy for nearly a decade. The result is a moving portrait of a family from North Philadelphia. Christopher "Quest" Rainey and his wife Christine'a "Ma Quest" raise a family, while nurturing a community of hip-hop artists in their basement home music studio. Epic in scope, this film is a vivid illumination of race and class in America and a testament to love, healing and hope. Shown in collaboration with POV, PBS’ award-winning nonfiction film series (www.pbs.org/pov). Official Selection, 2017 Sundance Film Festival and True False Film Fest. (2018, 90 minutes)
