Bring Story Time Home With Storyline Online

Storyline Online logoAs a parent to three little ones, I’m always searching for new resources to pull out at a moment’s notice. There are times that play dough and building blocks don’t excite enough, and I resort to media. When I do, I want to make sure that what I’m putting in front of my kids is safe and quality entertainment.

That’s why I’m so glad that I’ve found Storyline Online!

Storyline Online an award-winning program presented and produced by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Through their website and YouTube channel, Storyline Online offers high quality videos of well-known actors reading cherished children’s books.

The videos feature the actors giving an introduction, then they launch right into the stories, showing the pictures with some nuanced animations and light music in the background. The intent is to feature the book and highlight its wonderful features.

The videos are entertaining and a great way to capture your child’s imagination. However, my favorite feature of Storyline Online is the extensive activity guides that comes with each book. Each is filled with discussion questions, games, songs, crafts and even recipes! It’s a great way to engage in the story with your child. Oh, and did I mention that all of the videos and activity guides are FREE?!
