Cardboard Box Cars

Cardboard Car

When you’re really little, sometimes a box is more fascinating than its contents. Especially if it’s a big cardboard box that you can sit in! If your kiddo is sitting in cardboard boxes anyway, why not take it a step further and decorate that box to look like a car?

Step One: Find a cardboard box your little one can fit in easily.

Step Two: Attach black paper plates as tires! I like using hot glue, but it’s up to you. If you’re feeling really fancy, you can glue old CDs in the middle of the plates to make wheels! Just make sure it’s the shiny side out.

Cardboard CarStep Three: Add headlights and tail lights. You can use yellow circles for the headlights and red circles for tail lights. Cut them out of construction paper or just draw them on with markers.

Step Four: Decorate with your kiddo. Pull out the markers and let them go crazy on their box! Maybe you have some stickers or feathers left over from something—let your child use their creativity and add as much as they like.

If finding a box and plates seems like too much work, join us at our Drive-in Movie Preschool Palooza on Friday September 28th at 10:30-11:15 a.m. or 4-4:45 p.m. We’ll provide all the supplies, and you and your preschooler get to decorate and keep the cars. After decorating cars, we’ll enjoy some concessions and watch a short movie! Call 573-443-3161 to register.
