New Downloadable Audiobook Service

DBRL is pleased to announce a new downloadable audiobook service from
OverDrive offering hundreds of popular titles for adults, kids and teens.

You can download audiobooks to your computer without ever coming to the
library, then listen to them on your computer or transfer them to a variety
of portable music players. Some titles are even available in MP3 format
which will work with Apple computers and iPods. A few titles are also
available to burn to CD.

Playaways

The library also has a new audiobook format called Playaways. These new
devices are each loaded with a single popular title. They are about the
size of an iPod, small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. You listen to
them with headphones and control them with a few simple buttons on the back
of the player. This means you don't need a computer, a CD player, an MP3
player or any other extra hardware to listen to an audiobook.

If you like listening to audiobooks, you might also be interested in the
audiobook e-mail newsletter from BookNews. This service sends monthly
themed newsletters that highlight newly published books. You can sign up
