Have You Tried the New Catalog Yet?
The library's new catalog has been up and running for over a month now, and over 7,000 library users have already created accounts. They're enjoying the improved searching and the easy browsing for related items, and they're also enhancing our catalog by sharing their comments, reviews, tags and ratings about library books, music and DVDs.
One big improvement we've made recently is the return of the book descriptions and reviews that were part of our old catalog. For technical reasons, this content wasn't available for a few weeks after the new catalog went live, but it's now reincorporated, so there's more information about each title.
Don't forget that you don't need an account to use the catalog for finding books, music and more. The improved searching, browsing features and the content added by other users is all at your fingertips right away.
If you'd like to place holds, renew, rate what you read, save lists of books and more, then you'll need to register your account and pick a username; the process takes only a few minutes. When you add reviews, ratings and tags, you're really helping our whole community of library patrons by enriching the catalog. Other readers can use what you add to decide what to read and find new things they might not have discovered on their own.
