Sundance Filmmakers Visit Columbia
The library is proud to host filmmakers Kevin Willmott and Greg Hurd, both veterans of the Sundance Film Festival, as part of our monthly film series Center Aisle Cinema. We will be showcasing their film “From Separate to Equal: The Creation of Truman Medical Centers” at the Columbia Public Library. The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14. This film chronicles the realities of health care in Kansas City at the turn of the 20th century when African-American doctors, nurses and patients were excluded from most hospitals. Discussion will be led afterwards by the film's creators. To watch the trailer and get a schedule of our upcoming films, please visit Center Aisle Cinema.
