Library Adds Fifth Columbia Book Drop at The Callaway Bank
Daniel Boone Regional Library patrons can now begin using a new book drop on the west side of Columbia at The Callaway Bank at 3200 West Broadway. Four other off-site units were placed at other partner banks in November, 2011.
“After looking at concentrations of our patrons in the Columbia area, we knew we wanted to add fifth book drop on the west side of town and included that goal in our 2012 implementation steps to our strategic plan,” said Melissa Carr, Daniel Boone Regional Library director. “We are so pleased to have found a suitable site so early in this calendar year.”
Since the book drops were installed November 8, more than 17,000 items have been returned to the current off-site locations at Commerce Bank on Bernadette, First State Community Bank at the corner of Bethel and Nifong, Landmark Bank near Stephens Lake Park and Landmark Bank at Rangeline on Kennesaw Ridge Road.
“We appreciate the opportunity to support the Daniel Boone Regional Library and their book drop program. Our West Broadway facility offers easy, convenient access to the many who pass by on a daily basis.” said Gary Meyerpeter, Boone County President of The Callaway Bank.
The library now has 11 freestanding book drops region-wide. Daniel Boone Regional Library serves both Boone and Callaway Counties with facilities in three communities; Columbia Public Library, the Callaway County Public Library in Fulton and the Southern Boone County Public Library in Ashland. Library-To-Go lockers let people pick up holds and return materials at Ketchum’s General Store in Hallsville.
