Kids and teens created bookmarks to promote the upcoming Summer Reading program. The teen theme this year is "Express Yourself" and the kids' theme is "Be Creative." Below are the top three winners in each age bracket (5-8, 9-12 & 13-18) from each facility. Their bookmarks have been printed and will be distributed this spring and summer. Jane Smiley Visits Columbia April 8
ReadMOre, the statewide community reading project, has chosen the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "A Thousand Acres" as its book this year, and ReadMOre is bringing author Jane Smiley to the Columbia Public Library on April 8 for a reading, discussion and book signing. The library will also host a discussion of "A Thousand Acres" led by MU professor of English George Justice Thursday, April 9.
