First Thursday Book Discussion
Thursday, January 2 › Noon-1 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Friends Room
Bring a brown bag lunch and join us to discuss “A Walk in the Woods,” an entertaining guide to the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson. The Appalachian Trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America—majestic mountains, silent forests and sparking lakes. Bill Bryson introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way, plus a couple of bears. This modern classic will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read).
Bookmobile Stop at Auxvasse

Auxvasse, Security Bank parking lot
On board, you'll find a full array of library materials and services for all ages. You can browse several thousand titles or pick up materials you've requested online or over the phone.
