Join Karen Hamer for a discussion of this year's One Read runner-up book, "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" by Ben Fountain. This darkly satirical novel follows Billy Lynn, a soldier whose squadron survived an Iraqi insurgent attack caught on film by embedded TV reporters. The novel takes place at the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game during the men's last day of a "victory tour" before returning to war. Karen is a Southern Boone County High School English teacher and a member of the One Read reading panel.
