
The library will begin offering a new downloadable eBook service on January 17, 2011, starting with around 700 adult, teen and children's fiction and nonfiction titles. We will offer classes demonstrating [1] the new service in January and February.
Service Highlights
- The eBooks are checked out through our OverDrive [2] service, downloaded to a computer and then transferred to an e-reader device.
- The books can be read on either Mac or Windows computers.
- Up to 7 titles can be checked out at a time (for 7, 14, or 21 days) and can be returned early.
Compatible E-Reader Devices
- Compatible e-readers include the Barnes & Noble Nook [3] and Sony Reader [4].
- OverDrive has released a mobile app for iPhones, iPad and Android devices that supports EPUB titles.
