Come to a party featuring Mr. Stinkyfeet himself to benefit the Imagination Library, Saturday, February 5, 10 a.m. at Paxton Keeley Elementary School, 201 Park DeVille Drive in Columbia. Admission is $7 per person (cash only at the door, no advance ticket sales), with all proceeds to benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Columbia.
Award-winning kid-rocker Jim Cosgrove knows what kids like to laugh and sing about, and he’s taken that knowledge around the country and the world. “My songs are about the important things in a child’s life—laughing, dancing, singing and having fun,” says Cosgrove, “And I believe that the kids are the stars of the show, not me.”
This event is presented by the United Way and other local sponsors and will include booths from local merchants opening at 9:30 a.m.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a program that mails a free book every month to children under the age of 5 in Columbia. The program began in Dolly Parton’s home state of Tennessee, but has since spread to many counties and cities across the country. Locally, the program is led by the United Way Women’s Initiative and the Columbia Public Library and funded primarily by donations.
