Winter Card Wonderland
[1]With December upon us, the library is happy to offer two programs to help you prepare for the holiday season. Add a personal touch to your holiday greeting cards by making them yourself during our “Winter Card Wonderland [1].” Paper craft hobbyist Margaret Gonzalez will demonstrate stamping and embossing techniques as you create two of your own greeting cards and a gift card holder. Ages 15 and older. Please call your library [2] to register.
- Callaway County Public Library: Thursday, December 1, 6-8:30 p.m.
- Columbia Public Library: Saturday, December 3, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
- Southern Boone County Senior Center: Thursday, December 8, 6-8:30 p.m.
Holiday Tech Talk
[3]Electronic devices like tablets, smartphones, digital cameras and e-readers are likely to be on your loved ones’ wish lists. Be a wiser gift giver by attending “Holiday Tech Talk [3]” at the Columbia Public Library on Saturday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m. Librarians and gadget geeks Brandy Sanchez and Kirk Henley will share library resources that can help you make an informed decision when buying a device, and might even save you money.
In the meantime, visit our blog DBRL Next [4] where, beginning November 30th, we’ll begin our series on handmade gift ideas.
