Group Summer Reading
Child care centers, clubs, etc. / June 1-August 6
We’ve put together a special version of summer reading that’s easy to do with a small group of kids like a child-care center or a scout troop. Do eight of the suggested activities together, and your group will receive some free books and every participant will receive a small reward.
You Are Here Teen Reading Challenge
Teens / June 6-August 6
Teens who sign up will be challenged to read for 20 hours, share three book reviews and do seven of our suggested activities. Get your card punched as you go, and when you finish you’ll get a library messenger bag and be entered in a drawing for other rewards.

Books by Snail allows kids to check out books and participate in Summer Reading through the mail. Any child who goes to school in Auxvasse, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Hatton, Holts Summit, Mokane, New Bloomfield, Sturgeon or Williamsburg is eligible. Ask about it at school or sign up online starting June 1.
Novel Destinations
Adults / June 13-August 14
Why should kids have all the fun? While you’re at the library picking up your next great read, take a moment to register for the New Destinations adult summer reading program. When you put in your name, you’ll get a booklet with a calendar of events and a luggage tag. Share your reviews of what you’re reading, and you’ll be entered in weekly drawings to win bookstore gift certificates.
