In-Building Services

Wi-FiWireless Internet (Wi-Fi)

All three libraries have building-wide wireless Internet access. You can bring your laptop to the library and use the Internet for free.

Copying and Faxing

Photocopiers are available at all three libraries. Standard black copies cost 10¢ and color copies cost 50¢; both require change or dollar bills. Faxing is available at all libraries for $1 per page; ask a staff member for assistance.

Meeting Rooms

Nonprofit groups can reserve meeting rooms for free at the Callaway and Columbia libraries.

Study Rooms

The Columbia library has six small rooms available for quiet individual or group study. To use a room, just ask at the nearest service desk.

Test Proctoring

Test proctoring is available at each library as staff and time permit. We need at least one week's notice to proctor. The first 2 hours of your first test are free and we charge a nominal fee of $10 for each additional hour to help cover the cost of the service. This service is not for students of local colleges who should seek proctoring at their institutions. Read the full policy.

Tutoring

During the school year, MU students provide free drop-in tutoring for children at the Columbia Public Library.

Library Tours & Speakers

If you or your group would like a tour of one of the libraries, we would be happy to show you around. Tours can be customized to feature demonstrations of resources such as the online catalog, reference databases and various specialized collections and services. We can also make arrangements to have a librarian come talk to your group about libraries and library services.

Please contact your library to schedule a speaker or a tour. (Please give us at least two weeks notice prior to your preferred tour date.)

Library bookmobiles can also sometimes be scheduled to come to schools or community centers for a tour, especially if your school or center is in a smaller community outside the reach of one of our main libraries. To ask about a bookmobile visit and tour, contact the Outreach Department.
