System-wide, DBRL has a collection of over 550,000 items, including fiction and non-fiction books and music, DVDs and more for kids and adults. We also have a number of special collections for particular populations like parents, Spanish-speakers, and a large print collection for the visually impaired.
Our Collection Development Plan summarizes the philosophy, practices and policies that govern selection of materials and maintenance of the library collection.
We shelve westerns, romance series, mysteries, graphic novels and science fiction titles in their own sections because of the popularity of these genres and the large number of titles. New genre titles are also shelved separately within new books so that readers can easily browse for the newest titles by their favorite authors.
Most Wanted: 7-Day Check-Out Collection
Each library offers a 7-day check-out collection, comprised of several copies each of the hottest and newest popular adult titles available to walk-in patrons, one to a library card. They have a seven-day loan period and are not renewable. This service strives to guarantee availability of bestsellers to readers visiting the library.
Books From Other Libraries
If there's something you can't find in our collection, we may be able to loan it to you through the Interlibrary Loan program, which lets us borrow books from other libraries.
