Gaming and Coding Fun

Registration is now open for two popular gaming and coding programs at the Columbia Public Library. On Friday, October 13, we invite parents and youth to join us for “Wii U Family Game Time” from 4-5:30 p.m. Compete for the gold cup in “Mario Kart 8” or chase spooks in “Luigi’s Ghost Mansion.” A variety of games will be available for group play. Snacks provided. Ages 10 and older.

Then, on Friday, October 20, we’ll host “Hour of Code” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Using Blockly, a visual programming tool, children will learn to code using a variety of tutorials based on “Minecraft” and other popular computer games. Ages 10 and older.

To register for either of these programs, please call (573) 443-3161. If you enjoy experimenting with new technology, be sure to mark your calendars for “Sphero-nauts” and our “LEGO MINDSTORM Challenge” coming up later in November.
