In collaboration with One Read, Ragtag presents a free screening of "The Big Short," a hilarious and terrifying fictional film that explains the very real 2007-2008 financial crisis which was pivotal in the lives of many of the subjects of "Nomadland." The story begins with Michael Burry (Christian Bale), a hedge fund manager who recognizes the instability of the U.S. housing market and comes up with a plan to take advantage of the situation. This clever and urgent film was directed by Adam McKay and adapted from a book by Michael Lewis ("Moneyball").
