DIY Captain America Shield

Materials

  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • White paper
  • Duct tape
  • Red and blue markers

First, color a blue circle in the center of your plate. I colored on the back side of the plate so my shield would curve toward me when I held it.

Then, make a red stripe around the blue center and around the outside edge of your plate, leaving a white stripe between the red stripes. You can use markers, colored pencils or any medium to make the red and the blue, but it is important to remember that the blue goes in the middle and red goes on the edge.

Then cut out a 5 pointed star out of the white paper, roughly the size of the blue circle. Roll up a piece of duct tape and stick it to the blue circle.

For the handle, cut approximately 10 inches of duct tape and fold in half, so the tape sticks to itself.

Then turn your shield over to the side you didn’t color on. NOTE: If you want your star to point up, make sure you align it before you flip it over.

Place your folded duct tape to the center of your shield and secure one end with another piece of duct tape. Push the handle upwards so there is a slight gap for your hand or arm to hold the shield, and then secure the second side with another piece of duct tape.
