Update July 10, 2020: All appointment slots for the tax season have been booked.
The tax help volunteers at the Columbia Public Library are again available to help people fill out their income tax returns before the extended deadline of July 15. Please note some changes in how the service is offered so that the process is safer for both the preparer and client.
Reservations are required. No walk-ins are allowed. Those needing assistance can call the Columbia Public Library at (573) 443-3161 to add their name to a list. A tax aide representative will call the client to set up an appointment.
Masks are required. Clients who don’t have a mask can pick up a free disposable mask in the library lobby.
Remember to bring all necessary information to your appointment.
The free income tax service is through the VITA program, an IRS affiliate.
