Making it Click: E-Government in Public Libraries
Columbia Public Library, Windsor I

Medicare, Social Security, health insurance, taxes. Our customers come to us for help with these and many more e-government services. We love that new people are discovering the library, but we can’t (and in some cases, shouldn’t!) be the experts on all of these topics. The St. Charles City-County Library has established partnerships with local government and non-profit organizations to connect our customers to expert assistance. These partnerships include the Social Security Administration, CLAIM Medicare Enrollment Services, AARP, and the Mideast Area Agencies on Aging. These partnerships help provide meaningful access to e-government services as well as promote all library services by bringing new people into our spaces!
