Missouri State Parks will celebrate its centennial in 2017. Susan Flader, professor emerita of environmental and western history at the University of Missouri, Columbia will talk about that history and the challenges ahead. She was a founder and past president of the American Society for Environmental History and of the Missouri Parks Association. She was also a leader in securing and renewing the state's parks, soil and water sales tax, which led to a renaissance in Missouri's state parks. She is also the editor and co-author of the beautiful newly updated book "Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites: Exploring Our Legacy." Copies will be available for purchase and signing.
