Columbia Events

  • Artrageous Fridays
    Several Fridays a year, downtown Columbia hosts a gallery walk with art galleries and retail locations hosting displays of art and photography.
  • Art in the Park - Columbia
    Each June the Columbia Art League sponsors the oldest and largest fine arts festival in mid-Missouri with over 100 visual artists in a variety of media.
  • Citizen Jane Film Festival
    Annual festival in October celebrating female film makers and their works.
  • Columbia Eve Fest (formerly First Night Festival) - Columbia
    Celebrate the New Year in downtown Columbia with an array of musical performers, storytellers and special events for teens and children.
  • Earth Day Festival
    Annual spring earth Day Festival with an emphasis on learning sustainable ways of living to protect and preserve the environment.
  • Family Fun Fest – Columbia Parks & Recreation
    A free family event at Flat Branch Park every third Wednesday of the month April through September. Features music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, face painting and lots more.
  • Heritage Festival & Craft Show
    Annual fall festival featuring the art and craft traditions of 19th century artisans and tradesmen with live demonstrations and crafts. Entertainment includes storytelling, traditional music and dancing.
  • Inside Columbia Magazine’s Wine & Food Festival
    Held in May, seven days of food and wine related events featuring the work of local chefs, sip & shop in local stores and a progressive Tour de Columbia dinner.
  • Living Window Festival
    First Friday in December, downtown merchants compete for best “living window” displays. Shoppers can enjoy carol singing, carriage rides, hot treats and the city’s holiday lights.
  • Memorial Day Weekend Salute to Veterans
    Annual Salute to Veterans Airshow at the Columbia Regional Airport with parade and ceremony in downtown Columbia on Memorial Day.
  • Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival
    A two-day celebration of music and BBQ in downtown Columbia each September, attracting a line-up of major roots, blues and gospel performers.
  • True/False Film Festival
    The four-day festival features a wide range of innovative films, discussions with film-makers and workshops on film-making and production.
  • We Always Swing Jazz Series
    A series of year round jazz concerts at different venues in Columbia featuring some of the world’s biggest names in jazz music.

  • Kingdom of Callaway County Fair
    The annual Callaway County Fair is held every August at the Callaway County Fairgrounds.
  • Fulton Street Fair
    Annual summer two-day fair with art & craft vendors, musical entertainment, carnival and a variety of competitions and awards for best entries in the Grand Parade.
