Did you just buy a new computer running Windows 8 or 10 and have no idea where to start? Come to our informal session to learn about the newest versions of the Windows operating system and get pointers. You may bring in your laptop or device, or we can demonstrate with the library's equipment.

Drop-in Internet and Computer Assistance

During these unstructured sessions, use library computers to apply for a job, write a résumé, set up an email account, get help navigating the Internet, study for a test with "Learning Express Library" or sharpen your computer skills with our excellent self-guided tutorials. Choose from Keyboarding, Mouse Tutorial, Basic Skills, Computer Basics, Files and Folders, Exploring the Web, Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Presentations. For the tutorials, please bring headphones or purchase a set at the library.

Lifelong Learning With Universal Class
Columbia Public Library, Training Center

Take advantage of 500+ free online courses offered through Universal Class. Topics range from computer skills to gardening and everything in between. This session will teach you how to use this free library service. Registration begins Tuesday, January 26.

iMovie for Mac

We will review video editing with iMovie and storytelling techniques. This class is for intermediate and advanced technology users. Please bring your MacBook and a small collection of digital videos and/or images to work with. Attendees will qualify for further hands-on instruction. Registration begins Wednesday, January 27.

Learn at your own pace with these self-guided tutorials on the Windows operating system for beginners and intermediate users. An instructor will get you started and answer questions. Basic Mac Skills

Learn the basics of the Mac operating system for desktop and laptop users. We'll talk about the essentials of using your MacBook, iMac or Mac mini including Apple's software for Internet browsing, email, music, photos, etc., and how to customize your computer to your needs.
