Countdown to Kindergarten
Saturday, May 18 › 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room
In this monthly program offered through May, we'll share stories, songs and activities that focus on skills your child needs to be ready for school. Each month is different, but you can come to any or all sessions. For children entering kindergarten in fall 2013, with a parent. No siblings, please. Registration begins Tuesday, May 7.
Reading to Rex
Monday, May 20 › 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Callaway County Public Library
Your children can read to a dog from the Show Me Canines therapy group and improve their literacy skills. All dogs are certified and overseen by a handler during the reading sessions. Kindergarten age and older.
Discovery Time
Monday, May 20 › 9:30-11 a.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room
Bring your little one for some quality parent/child time. Meet other parents and children, explore literacy stations, and get ideas for activities you can do at home to develop learning skills. Because this program is very popular, we ask you to please plan on dropping in for 30 minutes. Birth to age 4.

Family Story Time

Come join us for stories, songs and activities. Ages 3-5.
Bookmobile, Jr. at Bear Creek
Tuesday, May 21 › 4-5 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Bear Creek Neighborhood, Elleta Blvd.
Loaded with books and other materials for kids and parents to check out, Bookmobile, Jr. travels to community centers around Columbia.
Nighttime Story Time
Tuesday, May 21 › 6:30-7 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room
Bring your family for a relaxed program where we'll read stories, sing songs and do an activity. Ages 2-5.
Messy Time
Thursday, May 23 › 6-7:30 p.m.
Columbia Public Library, Gene Martin Secret Garden
Dive in with your child for squishy fun using play dough, goop and all sorts of edibles. Then pick up our "Recipes for Fun" booklet full of more gloppy recipes. Dress for a mess, bring a towel and plan on dropping in for 45 minutes. Ages birth-5. Canceled if raining.
Messy Time

Lego Land
