Request Materials

Please check our catalog first, before you request a book. If the library doesn't have an item you're looking for, there are two options for requesting it. You may request materials from other libraries through an interlibrary loan or suggest an item for DBRL to purchase.

Interlibrary Loan

If the item you want is not available at DBRL, you might be able to borrow it through the interlibrary loan program called Show-Me the World. This service will search for copies of requested materials across the state and farther.

There is a fee of 50¢ for interlibrary loans.
Interlibrary loan service is available for residents of Boone and Callaway Counties (Missouri) only.
Audio-visual materials and recently published books are not available for interlibrary loan.
Items loaned through this service are subject to the loan period and overdue fees of the loaning institution.

You can search for your book by keyword, author, title, ISBN or year. After selecting the copy you want, you can request an interlibrary loan by clicking the black "ILL" button at the top of the gray bar on the record detail page and entering your name, address, library card number, etc.
