Reading to Rover
Monday, May 13 › 5:30-7 pm
Columbia Public Library, Children's Program Room
Children will read for 15 minutes to one of Ann Gafke’s Teacher’s Pet Therapy Dogs while a handler oversees them. It’s a fun way to improve children’s literacy skills. All dogs are certified therapy dogs.
Kindergarten age and older. Please note, depending on attendance, your family may need to wait for a dog.
Discovery Time
Multiple sessions Monday, May 13-Tuesday, May 21
This program is taking place at multiple venues.
Bring your little one for some quality parent/child time. Meet other parents and children, read to your child and get ideas for activities you can do at home to develop learning skills.

Silent Book Club
Tuesday, May 28 › 6-7:30 pm
Columbia Public Library, Quiet Reading Room
Join the most casual book club in town — there’s no required reading! B.Y.O.B. (bring your own book, that is), and enjoy conversations with other book lovers and one whole hour of silent reading.

Make Your Own Hot Air Balloon
Multiple sessions Saturday, June 1-Thursday, June 6
Southern Boone County Public Library, Meeting Room
To celebrate this year’s Summer Reading theme, drop by for one of two crafting sessions to make and decorate a colorful paper hot air balloon. Take your balloon on your adventures this summer and share photos with us of all the places you go, by emailing them to us at adventures@dbrl.org.

Celia’s Sing-Along Dance Party
