The community has voted to read “When Two Feathers Fell From the Sky” by Margaret Verble for the 2023 One Read program. Join us this fall for book discussions, film screenings, an author visit and other events.

As in past years, the Friends of the Columbia Public Library will fund the purchase of multiple copies of the One Read title for people to check out so anyone wanting to read it will be able to before September. The library offers the book in large print, as an eBook and in downloadable and streaming audiobook formats as well. Always-available ebooks and audiobooks of “When Two Feathers Fell From the Sky” are available through the library’s online streaming service hoopla.

The other title considered this year was the nonfiction book “Why Fish Don’t Exist: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life” by Lulu Miller.

One Read is generously underwritten by the Friends of the Columbia Public Library and made possible by organizations in our community. We thank all of our partners on the task force for their support.
