Bookmobile

The bookmobile maintains a regular schedule of stops in the following communities: Auxvasse, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Holts Summit, Mokane, Sturgeon, Williamsburg and Columbia.

Bookmobile, Jr.

The smaller bookmobile stops at community centers around Columbia. At the visits, kids and parents can check out books and other library materials. The Outreach Department staff also provides many activities, visits from storytellers and other events. The goals of this service are to introduce youth in low-income neighborhoods to the public library and to encourage reading. We also hope that these visits will encourage children to visit the Columbia library.

Deliveries to Homes, Retirement Centers and Jails

A library staff member will deliver library materials to senior citizen's homes and the residences of people of any age who have a long term illness or disability. In addition, deliveries are made to locations such as retirement homes, senior centers, food banks and jails.

The Outreach Department also works as a liaison with Wolfner Talking Book and Braille Library. Contact us for help using this service.
