The library collects only the minimum personal information necessary to provide effective services for our patrons. Personal information we collect will never be shared, sold or rented to third parties for marketing purposes.

Account Notifications

The library can notify you about available or overdue library materials by email or by mobile phone text messaging. You must opt in and provide a mobile phone number to receive text message notifications. If you opt in, your information will only be shared with third parties for the purpose of providing text message notifications about your library materials.

To opt in, sign in to your library account and change your notice preference or contact the library for assistance.

You can opt out at any time from text message notifications by following the directions in the text messages for unsubscribing or by signing in to your account and changing notice preferences or by contacting the library. After opting out, you may receive a final confirmation text message. If you choose to re-subscribe, you can do so by following the opt-in process again.

  • Failure to receive a library account notice does not waive patron responsibility for the timely return of library materials.

Patron Records

The library is a public service. How you use it is private.

Out of respect for your privacy, we have policies in place to protect you. No one else can walk in and find out what items you have checked out. By state law, we cannot release any account information to anyone else. We cannot release your library records to an agent of the local, state or federal government without your permission or a court order. If you choose to, you can track your recent borrowing history through your online account. The library does not store any information about your borrowing once you return an item.
