“Beach Read” by Emily Henry
4/5 Stars ★★★★
Why did you like or dislike this book? I thought this book was good. I like stereotypical romances and Emily Henry is definitely that. Although it covered some hard topics it was still a pretty lightweight book so I’m really excited to read the funny story of her new book. All in all this book was really good for a quick read.
Three words that describe this book: challenges, authors, drama
Pick up this book if: You want a summer read that covers harder topics through the perspective of two authors falling in love but still being fun and upbeat.
“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” by Jenny Han
4/5 Stars ★★★★
Why did you like or dislike this book? This book was a really fun read. While it’s not particularly deep, the characters are well-written as well as diverse and the author uses a lot of imagery with detailed descriptions of food, holidays, appearances, etc. to make the reader feel transported to the setting of the story. As far as romances go, the plot felt a little cliche, but having read the second and third book in the series before, I consider it good enough to keep reading.
Three words that describe this book: Lighthearted, drama, charming
Pick up this book if: You’re looking for a light read and don’t mind romance or drama as a part of the plot. Readers may also appreciate the descriptions of baking, Asian culture, and life as a high schooler.
“Little White Lies” by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
4/5 Stars ★★★★
Why did you like or dislike this book? I liked that it was a mystery, but they slowly solved it. It didn’t suddenly become solved at the end. In addition, it was cool to see all the friendships that formed throughout the book.
Three words that describe this book: Exciting, Dramatic, Suspenseful
Pick up this book if: You are looking for a mystery with a little bit of romance and drama.
