For the third year, the Daniel Boone Regional Library is collecting period products during May to donate to local charitable organizations. Visit any library location May 1-31 and look for designated collection bins.
We will be accepting the following items:
- Boxes of liners, pads, and tampons (any variety)
- New menstrual cups or period underwear
- Individual items may be donated if they are in their original packaging
The collected items will be donated to the following groups:
- Coalition Against Rape & Domestic Violence (CARDV) in Fulton
- CoMo Mobile Aid
- First Chance for Children
- Helping Hands Free Store in Ashland
- Holts Summit Soup Kitchen
- Our House in Fulton
- McCambridge Center
- Ronald McDonald House
Lack of access to period products often prevents individuals from being able to work and attend school. In one study by Thinx, Inc. and Period.org, one third of adults who menstruate said they have struggled to afford menstrual products, as had nearly one in four teens.
