Updated July 10, 2020

With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise in Missouri and in other parts of the country, library visitors and staff are required to wear a face mask and follow the 6-foot social distancing guideline. If you don’t have a face mask, you may pick up a free disposable mask in the library lobby.

All branches of the Daniel Boone Regional Library are now open with limited hours. In accordance with the Boone County health order currently in force, occupancy limits are lifted but patrons are still asked to limit visits to an hour.

Please take note of the following changes when planning your visit to the library:

  1. Visits are limited to one hour.
  2. Library visitors are required to wear a face mask while in the library.
  3. A distance of 6 feet from others must be maintained.
  4. Food is not allowed in the library.
  5. Group visits, including building tours, study groups and other meetings, cannot be accommodated.
  6. Hand sanitizer is available throughout our facilities.
  7. Furniture and computers have been spaced out to assist with social distancing.
  8. Meeting and study rooms are closed, and story times and other events are not being held in the buildings.
  9. Passport and proctoring services are not available.
  10. Children’s play equipment is not accessible.
  11. There will be no in-person tech help. Patrons can sign up online for a virtual tech help session for help with their Apple, Android or Windows computer or device. Appointments can take place over the phone, by email or via Zoom.

For your safety, library staff sanitize common surfaces throughout the day. Returned library materials are quarantined for 4 days before being checked in and returned to the shelves.

The big bookmobile has resumed community visits on its normal schedule, but patrons are not able to get on board to browse. As before, patrons are able to pick up their holds from the bookmobile in Auxvasse, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Rocheport, Sturgeon and the North County Shopping Center in Columbia.

Curbside hold pickup is available in Ashland, Columbia and Fulton during open hours.

The libraries’ open hours will mirror curbside pickup hours. The Holts Summit Public Library has resumed its regular operating schedule.
