A Note From the Callaway County Library District Board of Trustees
Historic buildings are in constant need of upkeep to keep them functional and comfortable. In recent years, we’ve been struggling with properly heating and cooling the Fulton library building. We are grateful for the love Helen Forsee had for the library. Because of a generous gift from her estate which we received in 2023, we are going to be able to replace the outdated HVAC system at the Callaway County Public Library this year.
To do this, we will be forced to close for a few months because of the extensive interior work that needs to be done before we can install the new HVAC units. Though the library building will be closed, the library will not. We will be offering some library events at alternate locations in Fulton. We are also looking for a temporary site where you can check out materials.
The Holts Summit Public Library in southern Callaway County will remain open during this time. And, of course, you can access audiobooks, eBooks, magazines, newspapers and borrow music and movies online. All you need is a free library card.
The Callaway County Public Library will be CLOSED beginning March 30. We expect the work to take 90 days.
We will provide project updates on this site, in email to cardholders and on the library’s Callaway County/Holts Summit Facebook page.
